Ahoy t'ye all lasses and lads and everyone in between or out!
It's been so long since I posted here at dA. I keep promising I'm going to post more often, make lots of plans, start point commissions, but it never lasts.
Well guys - I OWE YOU ALL AN APOLOGY. You have my most sincere thanks for still wanting me to draw for you, after all my inconsistencies.
I started this journal entry thinking that this time it's going to be different. Well, I can't prove that to anyone (not even me) except if I actually do something different, and carry it to the end. It is then my pleasure to announce that I've started a new Illustration course. All my drawings were a product of my autodidacticism, deeply stained by my own lazyness and too much procrastination. Of course, the fact that I was studying Biology, taking singing lessons, singing in a choir, all contributed to that. But now, I'm no longer in the choir and I finished my degree in Biology (yay, I'm a Biologist!!), and currently my activities allow me to have more time to draw. It's been a tough year, but now I'm working, paying for my own bills, and still taking singing lessons, and I took the courage to enroll in an Illustration course - only very recently I've come to terms with what I want to follow as my dream career: Scientific Illustration.
For now, I'm starting with a free course to learn more techniques before going for a specialization in Scientific Illustration, next school year.
Also, I finally have a Premium Subscription! It was given to me by VLeinad, and I finally get to try it out for a month before starting a one year subscription - yes, this is a good sign; it shows that I'm actually commiting myself, to the point where I'll pay to be more active on dA.
Now for something more specific: the theme of the project we'll develop in the course. As someone who never took art lessons of any kind, I feel as if I was getting behind younger artists or even colleagues of my age whose skills have improved madly compared to mine. And the theme for this course couldn't be more adequate: RUINS. LOL. Yes. I'm a ruined artist *melodramatic light* But I'll stand on my feet again, by acknowledging my own negligence and starting to change my attitude.
We've had 2 sessions so far, and until now our main focus is to gather material and find photo references. To do that, I opened a new favourited folder, which I'll gladly share with you, as there are really stunning pieces. Below there are some featured works:
I also have a few new works ready to post, I just need a few hours to update my gallery - remember the cross fanart between Sailor Moon and CCSakura? That's right, I have 2 more to post, and I'm currently considering a remake, with more accurate anatomy. Besides, I'm also trying a new kind of art... Wait and see
I'm also planning on starting weekly journals featuring the work of artists that inspire me. I'll try to focus on artists that don't have that many views and are less popular - goddess knows how some artists deserve a lot more attention
Goodbye for now, And see you soon! <da:thumb id="357253410"/>

I've been reading A Natural History of Dragons. This book is a memoir written by Lady Trent, regarding her first adventures as a dragon naturalist. Reading such a realistically written account, which includes the social context of this fictitious world, made me think of my own circumstances and of what I really want for myself.
In the past few months I've decided I wanted to enrol in a Master's degree in Scientific Illustration. Reading this book is making me want it even more :)
However, I do not have any technical base and cannot take for granted that I'll be accepted in a Fine Arts Master's, coming from a Natural Sciences course. It is n
I'm not dead (yet)
Hey there incredibly persistent people who watch me!
Just stopping by to say that I took a little break from drawing, while enjoying holidays with my family, which I hadn't seen in ages, but starting tomorrow I'm back to business!
Oh and I apparently have now a new tumblr account! Click here to take a peek, or look at this cartoon instead:
If you've commissioned me and were starting to wonder why the hell I haven't published your commission yet, now you know why c:

Point Comishes List
Hey guys!
I recently opened Point Commissions, and wrote a journal dedicated to guidelines, but I still haven't wrote one to inform about the commissions list/priorities.
For codswallops: I had to delay the second commission a bit, since I've been feeling sick this weekend, but I'll start working on it today.
